There is nothing better than taking a vintage guitar that has seen better days and giving it a full restoration treatment and hearing the dramatic tonal improvement and then seeing the amazement from the owner as they can’t put their guitar down.

I have been involved with playing & maintaining guitars since the mid 1980s which was a fabulous time to be introduced to the instrument and have been fortunate to have grown up with many legendary players of the likes of Stevie Ray & Jimmie Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, BB & Albert King and not to mention some Aussie favourites like Tommy Emmanuel & Ian Moss. You probably guessed it, I love everything about the blues! What struck me with all of these classic players is the uniqueness of their expression driven by their fingers and tonal quality of their instruments.

Whilst we can’t sound exactly like our heroes, but we can forge our own unique voice and to do this we need our instrument to be the best it can be. I have come to know the key to good tone is not just a combination of your fingers, strings & equipment but the most overlooked aspect is the setup & fret health. It is amazing what smooth frets and good action can do for your sound.

It is my mission to get your guitar sounding amazing so that you can enjoy the pleasure of pure tone and great playability both acoustically and when you plug it in to your amplifier.
